With over 17 years experience as a lawyer and another 15 years in commercial roles, Darren has a long track record of experience and expertise. That experience includes advising on major projects, contracts and regulatory issues across the rail and port, LNG, natural gas and electricity industries, both in Australia and other Asian jurisdictions. He has also worked on the development and implementation of market reform, corporatisation and privatisation projects.
Darren has particular expertise in competition law, access regulation and utility regulation. His work in competition law covers all forms of restrictive trade practices (such as cartels, M&A, misuse of market power, exclusive dealing, RPM and anti-competitive arrangements). His experience in access regulation is extensive, ranging across both Federal and State based regimes and across rail, port, electricity and gas infrastructure. He has also lectured in Competition Law and Policy.
